I am sharing with you all a very yummy and tasty recipe! I serve Dragon chicken with egg fried rice or just plain white boiled rice!
Boneless Chicken – 500 gms ( cube)
Salt – As per taste
Baking powder – 1/2 tsp
Black pepper – 1 tsp
Chinese salt – 1 tsp
Tomato Puree – 5 tbsp
Ketchup – 5 tbsp
Chilli garlic sauce – 1 tbsp ( you can skip it if you don’t have it, I use it for an extra spicy tangy flavour)
Red Chilli flakes – 1 tsp
Soya Sauce – 3 tbsp
Honey – 1 tbsp
Salt – to taste
Black pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
Ginger/Garlic – 1 tbsp each ( best if you use fresh)
Green onion – half a cup chopped
Capsicum – 1 ( cut in cubes)
Onion – 1 ( cut in cubes)
Marinate the chicken cubes in the marination ingredients. Please note that you can also replace chicken with prawns.
Marinate for at least 1 hour.
Fry the chicken till it changes colour. Please make sure you don’t overcook the chicken, or else it will become very hard!
Next, take a pan and put 2 tbsp oil in it. Add the ginger/garlic paste. Fry till it changes colour. Add the tomato puree, ketchup, salt, pepper, chilli flakes, soya sauce and honey. KEEP THE HEAT LOW!
In another small pan, lightly fry the green onion in 1 tbsp oil. ( Please don’t skip green onions, as they play a major role in this recipe! lol )
Mix well. If you don’t have tomato puree, you can blend fresh tomato and use that!
Add the fried chicken to the pan along with the other vegetables and mix well. ( you can add the vegetables that you prefer)
Please check the taste, see if more salt or pepper is needed.
Once you are satisfied, turn off the heat and serve!
P.S While adding all your ingredients like ketchup, tomato puree, please keep checking the taste. We all have different taste buds, some like it spicy whereas some don’t.
