My mum’s simple yet delicious recipe that never fails ❤
Potatoes – 6/7 cut in small squares or round shape (your choice)
Tomatoes – 4 chopped
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Kalonji (Nigella seeds) – 1/2 tsp
Salt – 1 tsp or as per your taste
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Green chillies – 2 chopped
Dry methi – 1 tsp heaped
Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin and Kalonji. Wait for them to sizzle, then add in the potatoes. Fry them for 4/5 mins. Add the spices. Cook for few more minutes. Add splash of water if needed.
Then, add the chopped tomatoes. Keep stirring vigorously till oil separates. Add 1/2 glass of water, cover with the lid and cook on low heat till potatoes are well cooked.
Once the potatoes are cooked, add in the chillies, methi and coriander leaves.
You can add water if you want more gravy!
